About Me

I was born in Liverpool on the 10th November 1942.  My family lived in Violet Street, just of Windsor Street and Warwick Street.  I attended the schools : St Silas infants just of Admiral Street, Windsor Street Juniors and Wellington Road Sec Mod.  My family moved to Northwich in Cheshire in 1953.

I worked as an apprentice automobile engineer.  Later, I drove heavy goods vechicles and finally as a Class A Signalman on British Rail.

I was medically retired in 1981 due to heart problems.  In November 2006 I was diagnosed with bladder cancer.

I married in 1963 to Linda Joan and we had two children, boys.  One is a male nurse and the other a office manager.  Both are married.  We have one grandson.

Linda's father served in the Royal Horse Artillery during WW II in Italy, her grandfather and uncle both served in The KIngs Regiment LIverpool.  Her Grandad won the Military Medal in WW I and her uncle, later transfered to the R.A.F and was killed in action at Rennes.  Linda's grandfather was Head Stable Lad for Lord Wavertree after WW I.  My father served in the Merchant Navy for over forty years and sailed in convoys during WW II.  He was torpedoed three times while serving in the engine rooms of ships.  He was found to be unfit for duty in 1942.  Yet later sailed in coasters for I.C.I from Northwich to Glasgow once a week.
